If yes then don’t waste time and immediately connect with the Best IELTS institute in Jalandhar and give your preparations a flying start.
Be on time
One of the first things to ensure is to reach your venue on time. No doubt this advice sounds very basic but still, there are few students who do not take care of that and end up reaching the venue center late. Many times the venue center is far away from the students’ residences. A lot of students attempting the IELTS exam reside in small towns and villages and have to reach the major city nearby for their IELTS exam. So do your travel preparations beforehand and leave for the venue at least 2-3 hours before the start of the exam.
Carry all the necessary documents
You need to make sure you carry the required documents for the IELTS exam. There are not too many documents required for the same. You just need to carry your identity proof like an Aadhar card, PAN card, etc. Now here the important thing to keep in mind is that you need to carry the same identity proof which you used while registering for the IELTS exam. You need not bring any passport-size photos. Once the authorities have checked your identity, they will allow you to enter the exam area.
Avoid bringing mobile phones as they will ask you to switch them off and deposit them inside. Sometimes there can be a chance of it getting misplaced so it’s better to not bring mobiles or any other valuable item while going for your IELTS exam.
Practice stress management
Often students feel very nervous on exam day. It’s perfectly fine to be a bit anxious. In fact, a little amount of anxiety actually helps you perform better in your exam. You will feel more focused and determined to do well. But if this anxiety increases significantly it can dampen your focus and attention completely. Few students even end up suffering from panic attacks while attempting the paper. This usually happens when they get stuck at one point.
So if you get stuck in such a situation then you need to be aware of some stress management techniques:
- Practice deep breathing. Place your hand on your stomach and take deep breaths. Focus on the inhaling and exhaling process. Now, this is not time-consuming at all. You just need to spend 1-2 minutes on it and you will immediately feel better.
- If you are unable to understand some questions no need to waste too much time on them. Remember there are several modules in the IELTS exam. Even if you feel you didn’t do very well in one section then don’t get demotivated and focus on acing the other sections. Your IELTS band score is going to be determined by sum total of scores in all the four modules so it doesn’t really matter if you couldn’t do up to the mark in one of them.
Take proper sleep before the exam day
A sound sleep is very essential before your exam day. Improper sleep will make you feel tired, and drowsy on your exam day. IELTS exam demands full attention and focus. You cannot afford to let yourself get swayed away due to factors like improper sleep which is something that is completely in your hands.
Don’t appear for your exam empty stomach
Breakfast is the most vital meal of the whole day. On your IELTS exam day, you need to take a proper breakfast. Remember you won’t be allowed to take any food items inside the exam center. If you will be an empty stomach then you won’t be able to focus very well on the exam. If you are someone who doesn’t like to eat much in the morning just take some fruits with milk. That will provide you with enough energy for rest of the day.
Avoid drinking too much water before the exam. You can use the washroom in between your exam but why waste your valuable time
